Life on the Draw (Cont'd)
Hey all,
I can't believe it's been more than 4 months since my last update (not that anyone reads this old thing, but I like to pretend...). Anyway, things have been crazy since I graduated from Seneca. I interned at C.O.R.E. as a Jr. Modeler for an upcoming short film (I'll post it up as soon as it goes online) and then I got hired as a 3D artist for an interactive company here in Toronto, and if life wasn't busy enough, I hooked up with a group of killer robots, hell bent on creative mahem and artistic anarchy.
But no matter how busy it all gets, as has been often said, everything comes back to the centre. And that means for me means life drawing. Here are a few from the last two weeks:

To the...MAX
Hey all,
It's recently become apparent to me that the vast majority of the models on this blog have all been semi-realistic styled creatures and figures. I decided that my next project would be more stylized and cartoony. To that end, here is a new model project that I've been working on for the last week or so. It's the 'heavy' from the 90's Turner film "Cats Don't Dance", named "MAX". Next to the main villain, he was the most interesting and memorable character from the film.
Thus far both the head and body have been modeled, the next phase is rigging the main figure before adding the clothes as secondary elements.

AbominationNation
Hey all,

This was a 35 hour project that I did to improve my modeling using a MAYA to ZBRUSH workflow. This was my first time using the ZBrush software and I was fairly pleased with the results.
**for the comic book fans, you'll notice that I used the original version of Abomination and brought back the ear fins that are sorely missing in the movie version!**
More to come.

2008 CHARACTER MODELING DEMO REEL

Hey all,
I've been sweating it out for the last four months, trying to get this demo reel finished and I'm very pleased to be able to say that it is done and youtubed for all to see. I'm very pleased with the final product, though I made tremendous changes to the original reel format. I have to say that Seneca College has a fantastic faculty in the Digital Animation stream. I was very fortunate to also be able to work as an intern at C.O.R.E. digital pictures as an intern during my final semester. My classmates who graduated this year were easily some of the funniest and most talented people, I've ever been fortunate enough to get to know. I really could go on and on about the experience, but I guess I'll stop here...
Enjoy!
